Guarantee

Unfortunately, as it is glass we’re working with, repairs are unpredictable. In the event that a repair cracks out further,  Autoscreenz will repair the chip, but cannot offer a guarantee on all repairs.

We are proud to say that 99% of our repairs are successful. Autoscreenz guarantee that successful chip repair will not crack out further and will pass COR (Roadworthy) inspections for the length of time you own the vehicle.

In the unlikely event of a repair failure Autoscreenz should be contacted in the first instance. Autoscreenz reserves the right to rectify the failure or refund for the cost of that chip repair.

Did you know?

A chip or small crack on your windscreen left untreated can spread to the point of replacement, often costing thousands of Rand. Repair it as soon as possible. If you wait too long your damage could spread and your windscreen may become beyond repair.

A chipped or cracked windscreen may cause your vehicle to fail its Roadworthy test.

An Autoscreenz™ windscreen chip repair with Diamond Resin™ will save you and your insurance company money.

We offer a lifetime warranty on a successful chip repair, not to spread or discolour.

Some more info on chip repairs:

A chip or crack in your windscreen can spread for many reasons, sudden temperature drop, even navigating a speed bump too quickly so left un-repaired you or your insurance company could be left with the cost of replacing the whole screen and costing you your excess charges.

It is a misconceived fact that fixing a chip or crack in a windscreen means replacing the whole windscreen, so getting a chip or crack checked or repaired can save you and your insurance company money.

The effects of maintaining a chip or crack free screen are vital for the safety of your vehicle and the driving of it. The structure of the front end of your vehicle relies heavily on the strength of your windscreen. A windscreen that is not structurally sound can affect the deployment of your air bags in the event of a front end collision; a windscreen defect can also mean your car could fail its Roadworthy test.

Did you know that a chip or crack that is repaired will provide a stronger base than undamaged glass itself thanks to the resin that is used to formulate the bond when carrying out a repair?

So how does it work?

Windscreen repair is a process that combines modern technology and skill to fill a damaged area on a windscreen with special clear adhesive resin. The resin is then cured with an ultraviolet light. When  done  properly, the damaged area’s strength is restored, as is up to 99% of the clarity.

Stone chip and crack damage

Many types of stone damage can be successfully repaired. Bulls eyes, cracks, star-breaks or a combination of all three, can be repaired without removing the glass, eliminating the risk of leaking or bonding problems sometimes associated with windscreen replacement as well as unwanted replacement costs should your insurance company not replace your windscreen. Once repaired, a cosmetic blemish may still be visible. The success of a repair and its visual appearance is affected by:

  • extent of the damage. All Chips are unique.
  • The amount of dirt already in the chip / crack
  • location
